"La situazione sta peggiorando. Gridate con noi che i diritti umani sono calpestati da persone che parlano in nome di Dio ma che non sanno nulla di Lui che è Amore, mentre loro agiscono spinti dal rancore e dall'odio.
Gridate: Oh! Signore, abbi misericordia dell'Uomo."

Abductions in Baghdad and bombs in Mosul. Being Christians in Iraq

By Baghdadhope *

In Dora, the huge south-eastern district of Baghdad once densely inhabited by Christian families the terror is back. On October 2, in fact, as reported by the Christian TV Ishtar a boy, Matti Anwar Yohanna Albazi, was kidnapped and a ransom of $ 100,000 was asked to his family for his release.
In reality, as revealed today by the website Ankawa.com, Matti was released yesterday after the payment of "only" $ 80,000.
A discount that hardly reassure the Christians of Dora who in 2007 were the designated victims of a brutal wave of violence that decimated their number.

Also in Mosul, however, things are not going well for Christians.
It is still the website Ankawa.com to report that after the bomb that a few days ago caused the escape from Al-zuhoor neighborhood of three families afraid of more violent attacks, another bomb exploded, this time in district of Hay al-thaqafa, in front of the house of a Christian family who already fled elsewhere in search of safety.
Some observers quoted by Ankawa.com affirm that the non-lethal explosions could be the new tactic adopted by those who want to "clean" the city of its Christian component spreading terror without resorting to the tactics already adopted in the past that included kidnappings, threats and murders.
The site also points out that the explosion that took place two days ago occurred just a few meters away from one of the checkpoints set up and even reinforced compared to the past.
