Msgr. Warduni (Baghdad) "We are waiting for the new Nuncio

"I am on the side of those who love God and their neighbor" so spoke Msgr. Shleimun Warduni, Vicar Chaldean Patriarch in Baghdad during a brief telephone conversation with Baghdadhope about the appointment of Msgr. Giorgio Lingua as new Apostolic Nuncio to Jordan and Iraq to replace Archbishop Francis Assisi Chullikat intended to represent the Vatican at the United Nations.
"We are delighted to learn of Msgr. Lingua's appointment" says the bishop "and although we still don't know him we are sure of his desire to work well for the good of Iraq and the Vatican."
"Iraq needs people who sacrifice themselves for the glory of the Lord and for the good of everyone, people who sow the seeds of peace among the parties for the common good, and for this reason we extend our congratulations to Msgr. Lingua for his appointment and we hope to cooperate soon with him for the good of all Christians and those of Iraq in particular. "
