In an interview to Baghdadhope, Father Rayan P. Atto, parish priest of the Chaldean church of Mar Qardagh in Erbil announced an initiative in memory of Father Ragheed Ganni, the Chaldean priest savagely killed together with three deacons on last June in Mosul.
Authorized by the Chaldean bishop of Mosul, Mgr. Faraj P. Rahho, a new web site will be online in the next days.
“It will be” explains Fr. Atto “a web site dedicated to collect the written memories of those who met Fr. Ganni during his life, who walked on his side along his spiritual path or, simply, who remember him and want to share their memories with those who loved him.”

Q. Will all the memories you collect be published on the web site?
A. “Among all of them we will choose those able to highlight Fr. Ganni’s carachter, his communion with God and His sons and daughters. The memories people have of him as a man, a seminarist and a priest.”
Q. And what after the collecting of these memories?
A. “We have a mission. The world must know Fr. Ganni’s story through the web site and a book that will be published and that will contain them.”
Q. Fr. Ganni lived in Iraq, in Ireland and in Italy. As a seminarist and a priest he met people from all over the world. How will you collect the memories of those who knew him?
A. “Fr. Ganni’s friends can write to our mail address.”
Q. In which languages?
A. "Arabic, English and Italian. In the book the memories in English and Italian will be in the original languages and translated into Arabic.”
Q. Who will edit the book?
A. "Mar Qardagh Church in Erbil, the church I am parish priest of.”
Q. Will it contain also photographic material?
A. “Yes. And those who want to share their memories of Fr. Ganni through, for example, photos of him or with him can send them to our mail. The web site and the book have been conceived to renew the memory of one of the Martyrs of our Church, to deeply understand the guidelines of his life and to follow them as an example of Christian life.”
Q. Is the web site already online?
A. “It will be in a few days and so also our mail address. We are sure that who met Fr. Ganni will participate in this initiative and we will be waiting for the memories of all.”
