In the light of the last events in Baghdad, and especially of the killing of the Syriac Orthodox priest, Father Yousef Adel Abudi, murdered in cold blood on last Saturday, in a short interview with Radio Sawa Mgr. Shleimun Warduni, Patriarch Vicar of the Chaldeans, said that although the acts of violence against Christians are not ceased, some families are going back to the southern districts of Dora and Mechanic.
Calling for the end of the acts of violence against religious and Christians in general, Mgr. Warduni took the opportunity to reiterate once again the firm opposition of the church to the project of a "protected zone" for Christians, emphasizing the need for peaceful coexistence among the different components of the country.
