Some news from Iraq: words and masses

According to PR-inside agency reporting by AP, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, met today the Apostolic Nuncio in Jordan and Iraq, Mgr. Francis Assisi Chullikat. According to a statement released by Al-Maliki’s office, the PM underlined the strong ties between Christians and Muslims saying that people of both faiths want to live together in peace and,condemning the attacks to the Christians placet of worship occurred two days ago, he declared that those responsible would be captured.

Yesterday the events were also condemned by the Sunni Vice Prime Minister, Tariq Al Hashemi.

The Chaldean Bishop of Mosul, Mgr. Faraj P. Rahho, celebrated a mass in Saint Paul Church. Attending the celebration, besides the faithfuls, some priests and diacons, there was Ninive Governor, the Sunni Duraid Kashmoula.
