Despite its being one of the churches damaged by the attacks of yesterday morning, the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint George in Baghdad was full of people in the same afternoon for the Holy Mass celebrated by the parish priest, Father Yunan Yacoub. This, more than the words pronounced in these days, is a clear sign of the determination of Iraqi Christians to resist the pressures of those who would like to clean the country of their presence.
If in Baghdad and Mosul fear spred again among the Christian inhabitants in Kirkuk, for the opening of the new conference hall of the Chladean diocese, the athmosphere was different. To cut the ribbon was Mgr. Andreas Sana, Bishop Emeritus of the city, in the presence of the present Archbishop, Mgr. Luis Sako. The hall, modern and well technologically equipped, has a web connection and will be used for meetings, seminars and conferences.
