In a letter from the patriarchal see the Patriarch of the Syriac Orthodox Church, Mar Ignatius Zakka I Iwas, appealed to the Arab League, the United Nations and the governments of the world to put an end to the violence that is hitting the unarmed Iraqi Christians and underlined how in Lebanon, Syria and other Arab countries they live in "peace and security."
It took place yesterday in the central Trocadero Sq. in Paris the demonstration in support of Iraqi Christians organized by the Association d'entraide aux minorites d'orient (AEMO). One of the goals of the association founded in 2007 and presided over by Msgr. Pierre Whalon is to spread knowledge of Eastern Christianity in France and worldwide.
A similar event will be held on the afternoon of Thursday 4 March in Copenhagen.
