I cristiani - continua Mons.

Kirkuk Christians:
Monday 1 march a day of Fasting in solidarity with the oppressed Christians of Mosul: We will stay nevertheless the pressures: this is our Land!
The targeting of innocent Christians, especially in these days in Mosul, in a barbarous manner, coinciding with the elections, is a shameful act, affects the design of God who created us different, violates human rights, hits the national partnership, and insults religious values. Wiping out Christianity from the region; or to force them to follow Islamic banner will only lead the Country to become more radical. Therefore we have chosen to fast and pray in protest against these heinous acts and in solidarity with our brothers confident that the justice of God is inevitable.
Concern of Iraqi Christians is growing in front of what is happening in Mosul of tension and struggle between political forces working in an atmosphere of chaos and congestion! To be sure, but the security or stability without genuine reconciliation and political harmony is not possible. When each one has to install its influence will create more problems.. No unique party or bloc or the majority can govern Iraq separately. That exclusion and marginalization scrap blow to national unity and stability. And that one house divided against itself, ruin the whole house. It is unfortunate that the country today is going more towards the ethnic intolerance, religious and sectarian division.. That this harmony between the political parties and politicians do not happen automatically, but achieved with the adoption of standards, mechanisms and indicators of ethnic and religious discrimination, genuine partnership and effective dialogue that enhances trust and co-existence and nation-building on the principles of citizenship, justice and equality .. Power of the state comes from credibility in the application of the laws of both officials and the transparency and dedication.. Our Unity is at risk as well as our future.. I ask all Iraqis to be aware of this truth.
We Christians we can look for a shelter in other lands to ensure our lives and our children's future, but we do not want isolation from the Iraqis. This is not our morale and our history or our partnership, everyone knows our role in reconstructing Iraq. Our position and our decision is to build our future with our fellow Muslims: Arabs, Kurds and Turkmen in the south, center and north. To build it through our commitment to our country which is not just a handful of soil country, but a story and survive, we build it with our principals, moral, honestly, impartially, and openness and cooperation, respect and love. We Christians believe this is a strength and not weakness or fear..
Therefore I call upon Christians not to give in to pressures or drift in obscurity and isolation, and we demand the central government and local communities and parties located in Mosul to protect citizens, especially the Christians who have been targeted more than once!
I call on everyone to participate actively in the vote with a clear conscience those candidates who have the competence to serve the country and its people.
Lord to find shelter under your wings to cross the storm (Psalm 57 2).
Archbishop Louis Sako
