The Chaldean Church of St. Efrem in Mosul has been completely destroyed in a bomb attack this morning. The news was relayed to the SIR by the Patriarchal Vicar of Baghdad Mgr. Shlemon Warduni. “The bomb attack occurred this morning at approximately 7am (Italian time). Luckily, there are no dead or wounded. The priest himself was out of his residence. Had he been inside, there would have been no chance of survival for him. Everything was completely destroyed”. “This is an attack on the whole Iraqi Church”, declared the bishop. “No one is safe and what happened today in Mosul can occur in every other region of the country”.
