Concluded the visit to Kirkuk of the delegation of Pax Christi France led by Msgr.Marc Stenger, Bishop of Troyes. The delegation arrived at Erbil International Airport, met the governor of the city and then went to visit the Christian villages of Karamles and Qaraqosh, near Mosul. Once arrived in Kirkuk the delegation visited some Sunni and Shiite mosques and the Alazadi hospital, and met a delegation of Muslim religious leaders and government representatives including Abdul Rahman Mustafa, the governor of Kirkuk and Ali Amin, Chairman of the Provincial Council. During these meetings the participants stressed the importance of the culture of dialogue and peace that has its foundation in the faith in God the Creator and in the equality among human beings, and that of the Christians as original inhabitants of the country capable of cementing relations among the parties and be the bridge for dialogue among them. On the evening of September 12 a prayer for peace in the church of the Virgin Mary welcomed the delegation that on Sunday attended the Holy Mass in the cathedral explaining the reasons of the visit and inviting the Christian population to resist the charm of migration contributing to build cultural bridges among the different components of the city. The visit to Kirkuk was concluded with a dinner in honour of the delegation of Pax Christi organized by the Chaldean archbishop of Kirkuk, Msgr. Louis Sako.
After the visit in Kirkuk the delegation head towards the towns of Alqosh, Hamadiya, Dohuk and Zakho.
