After fighting a long and incurable illness Mar Narsai DeBaz, Bishop of Europe, Syria and Lebanon of the Assyrian Church of the East died in a hospital in Scottsdale (Arizona). The funeral ceremony will be held at Mar Gewargis Cathedral at 7201 N. Ashland Ave Chicago on February 19 at 9.00 a.m.

The funeral ceremony will be officiated by the Patriarch Mar Dinkha IV who visited Msgr. DeBaz in his last hours in the hospital and from whom the late bishop received the Holy Qurbana before dying.
