Iraqi Refugees in numbers

According to US Department of State, United States surpassed the goal fixed for the current FY (October 2007-2008) of 12.000 Iraqi refugees resettled in the country.
12.118 Iraqi refugees were in fact admitted in the USA and 870 Iraqis received Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) between October 1, 2007 and August 31, 2008.
The DoS reports also that the US Government contribution for Iraqi refugees, conflict victims
and internally displaced persons, in the current FY was of $318 million.
