Government (KRG)'s PM Nechirvan Barzani stated on Wednesday that his
administration will keep supporting the Catholic Church and thanked the
church officials for relocating the church from the US to the Kurdistan
Region.
Barzani's comments on Wednesday came

Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East Mar Gewargis Sliwa.
KRG PM extended his thanks to the
Catholic Church officials for trusting the Kurdistan Region and
relocating from the US despite the uncalled-for situation in the
Kurdistan Region.
Commenting on the conditions of the
Christian IDPs in the Kurdistan Region, PM Barzani stated the KRG
supports the IDPs to return to their homes to the best of its abilities.
Catholicos Patriarch of the Assyrian
Church of the East Mar Gewargis Sliwa extended his thanks to the KRG and
especially PM Barzani for his "direct" support in establishment of a
Catholic church in Erbil which is still under construction.
The Catholic delegation also voiced
their content with the stability and developments in the Kurdistan
Region and hoped that after conclusion of the Islamic State (IS) war in
Iraq the IDPs return to their homes and practice their faith in freedom
especially in Nineveh Plain.
