Father Ragheed Ganni,the young Iraqi priest killed on June 3 2007 in Mosul outside the church of the Holy Spirit during an attack that wiped out also the lives of three deacons was recalled in Rome in a Mass celebrated at the University of St. Thomas Aquinas - Angelicum – on June 1.
In his homily, Father Robert Christian, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Theology, retraced the path of the secular and priestly life of the young priest who "already before his death was a martyr " quoting the words that Father Ragheed himself used in his last email to the celebrant to describe the situation of the entire Iraqi Christian community as "worse than hell."
