The Patriarch of the Chaldean Church, Mar Paulos III Nona, announced today, Friday, the start of his mission to lead the Chaldean Church despite the difficulty of the task.
In a speech during his installation ceremony, attended by a correspondent from the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the Patriarch of the Chaldean Church, Mar Paulos III Nona, said: “Fear is natural, but surrendering to it is the real Problem.”
He added that "faith is an escape from the cycle of anxiety," noting that "my message begins with confidence despite the challenges, and I thank the attendees, and I thank Patriarch Sako for his service to the Church."
The installation ceremony of the new Patriarch of the Chaldean Church in Iraq and the world, Mar Paul III Nona, has begun.
The reporter for the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said that "St. Joseph's Church in Baghdad witnessed the launch of the inauguration ceremonies of the new Patriarch of the Chaldean Church in Iraq and the world, Mar Paul III Nona, succeeding the former Patriarch Mar Louis Raphael I Sako."
He noted that "the installation ceremony took place in the presence of religious and official figures, as the new Patriarch assumed his ecclesiastical duties to lead the Chaldean Church in Iraq and the world, amidst a festive atmosphere and special prayers for this occasion," explaining that "the position of Patriarch of the Chaldean Church is one of the most prominent Christian religious positions in Iraq, given the spiritual and social role that the Chaldean Church plays inside and outside the country."
