"La situazione sta peggiorando. Gridate con noi che i diritti umani sono calpestati da persone che parlano in nome di Dio ma che non sanno nulla di Lui che è Amore, mentre loro agiscono spinti dal rancore e dall'odio.
Gridate: Oh! Signore, abbi misericordia dell'Uomo."

Message of H.B., the Chaldean Patriarch Louis Raphael Sako to Muslims on the Occasion of Eid El-Fitr

I would like to send my sincere congratulations and best wishes to Muslims on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr that coincided with the liberation of several Iraqi cities from ISIS. I also salute with pride the Iraqi Army, Peshmerga Forces, Popular Mobilization Army and the Tribal Forces for their victories. I sincerely hope that all Iraqi territories will be liberated soon and the displaced can return happily to their homes and towns.
On this occasion, we call on our fellow Muslims to raise their voices and condemn officially the crimes committed in the name of religion including the latest massacre of Sunday 3 July 2016 that took place in Karrada, Baghdad. Such horrible extremism is in fact a deviation and distortion of religion and should be rejected by promoting moderate Islam that accept others and endorsing co-existence.
We hope that the actual meaning of fasting Ramadan, celebrating Eid Al-Fitr, the liberation victories and the recent shocking attack in Baghdad lead to a serious national stance that will put the political process back on track and lead to a comprehensive reforms in all state institutions. This is the only way to relief Iraqis from such a burden that they have been carrying for so many years. Additionally, it will help them to build a better and thriving future, where the values of freedom are respected, and the equality ensures the sustainability of the beautiful mosaic diversity of our beloved country.
