Please Keep us Away from Conflicts

Iraqis have been frustrated for decades, dreaming to have a secured and stable homeland; where justice and equality rules; away from threat, fear, violence and war. Obviously, Iraqi officials have not learned the lesson from the previous devastating war and terrorism that destroyed infrastructure and society, leaving behind significant moral and psychological wounds.
Currently, the escalating tension between the Iraqi Central Government (ICG) and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) due to referendum created worries, uncertainties as well as horror among people. As a result, people start leaving their homes again to survive with their family members. Moreover, this conflict is halting the restoring process started by the Church upon the release of Nineveh Plain from ISIS, encouraging displaced (IDPs) to return, as was the case with Baqoufa and Telleskef, for example.
It is painful to see our people in such terrible conditions, especially that the winter is around the corner. Therefore, we sincerely “URGE” Iraqi leaders to have a dialogue and reach a mutual agreement that declares establishing a better future of peace and stability, since dialogue is a level of faith that requires courage and helps to cleanse minds and hearts and leads ultimately to respect people's lives, rights and dignity.
In closing, we implore you all to keep us away from fighting. Enough is enough; we are tired of wars and losing more than we have lost already. Please put an end to this conflict and, forever! Let Iraqis return to their homes to live tolerance and respect as brothers and sisters on this blessed land of Abraham.
