After that a few days ago a new appeal is relaunched today for the release of Archbishop Faraj Paulus Rahho abducted on last Friday. The appeal is by the patriarch of the Chaldean Church, Cardinal Mar Emmanuel III Delly, who speaks on behalf of all the bishops of the church. The kidnapping, it is said in the appeal, affects negatively the relations between Christians and Muslims and damages the image of the same Iraq, a country where Christians and Muslims have lived fraternally for 14 centuries, where Christians welcomed the arrival of Islam, and the growth of which the Christians have contributed to as a cultural bridge between that world and the West, and as an active part of its history. The fate of Christians is linked to that of their Muslim brothers and for this reason the appeal is to the conscience of those who take as a hostage the dear brother Archbishop Faraj Rahho Paulus, recalling how such action is contrary to the divine teachings and Islam.
